To the editor:
Columnist Thomas Sowell, in his own words about immigration reform, wrote "Immigration laws are the only laws that are discussed in terms of how to help people who break them. One of the big problems that those who are pushing 'comprehensive immigration reform' want solved is how to help people who came here illegally and are now living in the 'shadows' as a result."
What is it the conservative pundits and conservative party don't understand about illegal?
Who welcomed with open arms and hired the Hispanics to walk right across the border and do the jobs Americans don't want and work underpaid for the last 170 years? Was it OK? No - it was illegal then and now.
A blind eye was turned for 170 years. Now comes the time for reparation. It is time to make amends for a wrong we have done, and 11 million or more illegals will come. We don't have a wall high enough to stop the Hispanics from coming across the border.
Let's free them from their bondage, and then jail anyone who hires any illegal thereafter. It's the simplest and safest way to secure our borders.
