CADIZ - Harrison Central's defense held visiting Edison to single digits in three of four quarters as the Huskies rolled to a 57-32 win in the John W. Stephenson Center Tuesday.

Huskies senior Cody Evans nailed two three-point buckets helping his team jump out to a 10-2 lead. The hosts would lead 21-8 after the opening frame.

"We played hard, we played good defense and we made some shots," said Harrison Central coach Justin Clifford.

"We came out in the first quarter not ready to go," said Edison head coach Nate Moses. "That has been the story on the road for us this season. They shot the ball really well but I was proud of the way we kept working hard."

That hard work paid off as Edison would win the second quarter 13-10 to trail at the half 31-21. But, it wouldn't get any closer.

When the Huskies came out in the third quarter their offense had cooled.

"We went about four minutes where we did not score a bucket," Clifford related. "We still were able to keep the tempo and lead because of our defense."

Brandon Mitchell broke the ice off the bucket with a pair of three-point shots, Cory Yoho added a jumper and Dustin Redish netted the first four of his perfect 6-6 outing at the foul line for a team total of 12 points while holding Edison to just five in the third.

"We had some guys who typically have not scored for us step up and make some shots," Clifford added. "We know they are capable and we were real happy to see that."

Brandon Mitchell paced the Huskies with 14 points. Evans finished with 12 points and eight rebounds. Austin Kowalski chipped in with nine points and Cory Yoho seven points.

Erik Lee scored nine points to lead the Wildcats offense.

Edison falls to 6-12 and is scheduled to travel to Weir tonight. The Huskies even their season mark at 8-8 and are slated to host St. Clairsville this evening.
