For today, I am devoting space to photos instead of details from Saturday's first-time "Jazzy Jeans and Jewels" held at the Hellenic Hall in Steubenville to benefit the Jefferson County Fourth Street Health Center. Check out Wednesday's community page for a little more info.
Here are some highlights, though, of the event co-chaired by Janet Sharpe and Patricia Fletcher;
--There were approximately 200 in attendance for what was an evening of food, music and fun.

-- Janice Kiaski
-- The goal was to raise $5,000. The grand total raised was $5,501.
-- Patrons were to dress up in blingy jeans and outfits, and many did. A panel of judges selected eight sparkly, jazzy dressers to see who could collect the most $1 votes, an effort won by Gretchen Heizler of New Cumberland. She brought in $367.
-- There were 17 "celebrity chefs" who provided and served a variety of food.
-- This event will be back next year, and I'll be back tomorrow with a little more commentary.
