STEUBENVILLE - The Big Red boys basketball team garnered its 13th win in 16 outings with a 72-35 victory over John Marshall Saturday inside the Crimson Center.

Khaliq Bougard led the way with 13 points. Charles Reeves added 10, Brandon Herring-Hill nine and Adam Sterling eight.

Steubenville held a 50-12 lead at halftime.

Redskins down Wildcats

WINTERSVILLE - The Indian Creek girls basketball team won its third game is as many days with a 53-28 decision over visiting Edison Saturday afternoon.

The Redskins head to University Monday to play in the OVAC Class 5A semifinals.

Bre Berryman netted 22 points and Bethany Davis added 13 as Indian Creek raised its record to 14-5. Kiarra Kamarec and Ashley Durbin each chipped in with eight.

Abby Fonow and Lynsey Morrison each had seven for the Wildcats. They host East Liverpool Wednesday in pool play of the OVAC tournament and then visit Brooke on Thursday.

Irish defeat Royals

WEIRTON - The St. John Central boys basketball team jumped out to a 28-6 lead after eight minutes and cruised to a 76-31 victory over Jefferson County Christian Saturday at the Millsop Community Center.

The Royals were led by Garrison Mathison's 15 points. Dillon Sindeldecker added seven and David Babenko six.
