GLEN DALE - A night after outscoring John Marshall by 13 points, the Indian Creek girls basketball team had to hold on down the stretch for a 69-67 win against the Monarchs on the road.

The Redskins (13-5) had a 17-point lead at one point in the second half.

Bre Berryman led all scorers with 30 points and Kiarra Kamarec added 27. Ashley Durbin contributed six points and Bethany Davis had four. Karli Celestin added two.

Tori Derrow led the Monarchs (9-7) with 30 points while Bailey Filbin scored 19.

Indian Creek hosts Edison today with junior varsity tip at 2 p.m.

Bulldops beat Crusaders

STEUBENVILLE - The undefeated and state-ranked Bridgeport girls basketball team outscored host Catholic Central 21-8 in the third quarter and cruised to a 69-33 victory Friday night.

The Crusaders held a 9-8 after eight minutes, but the Bulldogs came back to grab a 22-15 lead at intermission.

The third quarter broke it open and Bridgeport finished the game with a 25-10 cushion in the final period.

Catholic Central visits Bellasville on Monday in pool play of the OVAC tournament.

Bridgeport, the No. 1 seed in Class 2A, hosts No. 4 Wheeling Central.

Beaver tops Toronto

TORONTO - Chase Hillinger drained four 3-pointers and finished with 17 points as Jared Lyter added 26 and the Beaver Local boys basketball team topped Toronto, 76-57, on Friday.

Blaze Glenn was limited to 16 points for the Red Knights (6-10) and Nate Stewart scored 11. Hank Clegg hit their lone 3-pointer and Derrick Lawrence finished with nine points.

Toronto welcomes Jefferson County Christian on Tuesday.

Harrison stops Buckeye

RAYLAND - The Harrison Central boys basketball team beat Buckeye Local, 66-56, on Friday night behind 20 points from Austin Kowalski.

Dustin Redish added 13 points and Nate Olmstead had 11, while Cory Yoho dropped 10.

For Buckeye, Brennan Czuchran scored 17 points.
