WINTERSVILLE - The frigid temperatures and snow-covered streets didn't keep more than 150 area brides-to-be from attending the 2014 Sparkling Moments Bridal Show Sunday at St. Florian Hall.

All of the brides-to-be and guests were treated to a champagne luncheon, a goodie bag, a number of different vendors and a fashion show featuring a variety of wedding and vacation fashions.

The grand prize awarded during the event was a trip to Cocoa Beach, Fla., as well as a four-night Royal Caribbean cruise to the Bahamas.

Bride-to-be Justine Medley of Steubenville was the lucky winner of the grand prize trip.

"I am so excited," she said. "I was writing down all the numbers for the door prizes and said to myself, 'This will all be worth it if I win the trip.' We haven't planned a honeymoon yet, so this is perfect."

Medley and her fiance, Ryan Jackson, have been together since high school. They will be married June 15.

The trip comes courtesy of Todd Piergallini, owner of Piergallini Catering, while Carson Travel is providing the four-night cruise. Additional main sponsors included the Herald-Star, The Weirton Daily Times, Sorelle Bridal Salon, which provided fashions for the wedding portion of the fashion show; Phil-Mor Tuxedo Outlet, which provided tuxedos during the show; Anna-Kay's Unique Fashions, destination wear; Fabian Formals of Hollywood, mother of the bride styles; and disc jockey Johnathan Mihellis

Becky Salvino, manager at Aubrey's Bakery in Steubenville's Hollywood Plaza, was one of the vendors. She said this is her fourth year attending the annual event.

"We have been here every year and see some good business from the event," she said. "We offer taste testing, showcase our wedding cakes and have samples of our cookies as well. We also help the brides with their decisions on which cake to choose. Today, we had a lot of brides sign up for consults for both this year and next year."

"Our bridal show has quickly become a premiere bridal show for the Ohio Valley," said Cindy Kotsch, special events and marketing coordinator for the Herald-Star and The Weirton Daily Times. "This year was no different. We had hundreds of people attend, even with the snowy weather. Everyone had a great time and it was a really fun afternoon."

The Colantoni sisters of Steubenville, Amy and Cara, are both getting married this year, Amy in May and Cara in August. They attended the bridal show along with their mom, Joni.

"We already have our dresses but we came to look at the different vendors and I talked with a number of different bakeries," Amy Colantoni said. "I set up a consult with Aubreys and also spoke with some videographers about pricing and ideas."

"This is the first bridal show we've been to and it's been fun," Cara Colantoni said. "I booked my limo here today."

The following vendors were present at the event: Hairway to Heaven; En-tice-ing Photography; Videos by Brian; Envy Salon; Mary Kay Cosmetics/Rose LaRosa; Fairfield Inn; Howard Family Orchestra; Clear Choice Photo Booth; Holiday Inn Weirton; Mama G's Catering; Best Western University Inn/Damon's; G&G Limousine; Origami Owl/Amy Balog; McDonnell Chiropractic; Forever Young Aesthetics/Dr. Patrick Macedonia; Chambers and James; Stella and Dot Jewelry; Snap Shop Photo Booth; Full Circle Wedding Shop; It Works!; Off Center Production; Finishing Touches; Aubrey's Bakery; JK Photography; Froehlich's Classic Corner; and Steubenville Chiropractic.
