STEUBENVILLE - Ohio Valley Vision Center has a new home.

Dr. Edward Jagela's business moved to the Medical Pavilion at Trinity Medical Center West in November. The staff has been planning the move from its previous location on North Fourth Street for nearly two years.

"This move and new facility are an example of our commitment to provide the very best eye health care to our patients and community," said Jagela, who has been in practice for 20 years. "At Ohio Valley Vision Center, you will receive the area's most comprehensive vision and eye health medical examinations utilizing modern technology and our exemplary patient care and service."

The new office features a number of innovative pieces of equipment including: spectral domain-OCT; auto-fluorescence retinal photography; specular microscopy; orbital ultrasound; corneal topography; and office-based visual evoked potential and electroretinograms. Other instruments used by the office to evaluate eye health include Humphrey Visual Field Testing and Pachymetry.

"We welcome referrals and consultations for routine vision exams for glasses and contact lenses along with consultations for all medical eye problems," Jagela noted.

The office evaluates and treats conditions such as pink eye, foreign body removal, corneal abrasions, glaucoma, diabetic and hypertensive eye evaluations, macular degeneration, Plaquenil and high-risk medications affecting the eyes, ocular migraines and vision disturbances, diplopia, cranial nerve palsies affecting the eyes, HSV and Herpes Zoster infections along with other conditions.

Jagela participates and co-manages with the very best ophthalmic sub-specialists for surgeries such as

state-of-the-art refractive cataract surgery utilizing lasers. The office has the ability to evaluate patients for refractive surgery, including LASIK and PRK procedures, as well as the ability to photo document most external and internal eye conditions with the newest anterior and posterior segment high-definition cameras.

Jagela is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, a diplomat of the American Board of Optometry and certified by the American Board of Certification in Medical Optometry.

He completed his internship at the Illinois Eye Institute in Chicago and externships at Chicago Osteopathic Hospitals. He has hospital staff privileges at Weirton Medical Center, Lifeline Hospital and Harrison Community Hospital.
