Romeo A. Buffone

BUFFONE, Romeo A. 100, was 12 hours shy of being 101, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2014.

He was born Jan. 21, 1913, in Steubenville, the son of the late James and Josephine Tosti Buffone, Romeo is also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Toth Buffone, three brothers, Leo, Joseph, and Mac, sisters, Mae Tripodi, Ann Clause, and Marie Greco; grandson, James Anthony Buffone and a daughter-in-law, Betty Jo Buffone.

Romeo was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, was retired from Weirton Steel and was a member of the Weirton Steel 25-Year Club.

Surviving are two sons, James of Bloomingdale and Paul (Shirley) of Steubenville; one brother, Harry of Houston, TX.; three grandchildren, Candace Dixon, Joyce Ward, and John Beyler, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Romeo was also a member of the K of C 472, was a walker at the mall for 20 years, and was an usher for 50 years at Holy Family and Holy Rosary Catholic Church's

Calling hours are Friday 5-8 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel. A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Msgr. Gerald Calovini, celebrant. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. There will be a vigil service Friday at 6:30 pm.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church.
