The "Photographers of the Year" were chosen based on the number of wins in monthly competitions and the number of points awarded by the judges over a 10-month competition season between 2012-13. Members compete in three categories monthly of open, topic of the month and special effects.

The banquet tables were decorated by Snider with plants, candles and doilies. Favors were hand-painted by Judy Whiting.

After the award presentations, entertainment was provided with a digital slide show of members' photographs.

Many club members submitted several pictures each of their favorite or most significant things to photograph. Momyer compiled the pictures for the presentation and accompanied it with a selection of instrumental music.
