STEUBENVILLE - A city man who was arrested by City Police on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge two days after he pleaded guilty in Jefferson County Common Pleas Court to two breaking and entering charges was sentenced to 11 months in prison on Monday by Judge Joseph Bruzzese Jr.

Jeremiah Wade, 27, of 635 Logan Ave. pleaded guilty to breaking into the CAS Frosty warehouse at 215 S. Seventh St. and the former Steubenville Fruit Co. building in the 100 block of South Sixth Street, both in August.

Wade pleaded guilty on Jan. 6 and was arrested two days later on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and giving an officer a false name. Wade denied a crack pipe found under the seat in a vehicle in which he was riding belonged to him.

The county prosecutor's office recommended at Wade's plea change hearing that he be sentenced to nine months in prison. Wade asked that his sentencing be delayed one week so he could take care of personal business. Bruzzese warned Wade at the time to stay out of trouble. The judge increased the recommended sentence by two months because of the additional charges.

Bruzzese ordered Wade to pay restitution if a civil judgment is filed against him for the damages, which could exceed more than $130,000 at the Steubenville Fruit Co. building alone where all the wiring was removed.

Also, Charles Perry Jones, 26, of Steubenville was sentenced to two years in prison on Monday by Bruzzese on a probation violation.

Jones pleaded guilty in August to single counts of burglary and theft in connection with the burglary of a house in the 300 block of Braybarton Boulevard in August 2012. He was sentenced to six months in the Eastern Ohio Correction Center and placed on two years of probation.

Jones was kicked out of the program at the Eastern Ohio Correction Center because of violations.

Christopher Yanda, 19, of 105 Montwell Drive, Mingo Junction, was sentenced to 18 months in prison by Bruzzese after pleading guilty to theft and burglary for stealing an all-terrain vehicle in October outside Wintersville.
