Weirton club’s annual basket drawing raises funds for library

The Literary Department of the Weirton Woman's Club, a General Federation of Women's Clubs of West Virginia member club, held its annual basket drawing Dec. 13 at Mary H. Weir Public Library in Weirton.

The annual basket drawing raises money for the library to purchase books.

Members of the literary department donate all of the items that fill the baskets.

Organizers expressed appreciation to those participating for making the event a success.

The winners of this year's baskets were: Colleen Mindzak, spa; Alaina Moore, scrapbooking; Norine Lerczak, Christmas; Kathy Bischof, Italian; Michael Manteau, toy; Frankie Harrell, tea; Donna Davis, West Virginia University; and Carol Skerbetz, Pittsburgh Steelers. The Mary H. Weir Public Library is a United Way member agency. Diana Durst is the department chair, and Diane Pastoric is the club president.
