Mary Case

CASE, Mary Virginia, beloved wife and mother, passed away at Valley Hospice in Steubenville, Ohio on Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, after a six-month battle with cancer.

She was 62, born on Dec. 14, 1951, to Paul and Nalda Culver in Athens, Ohio.

In 1970 she graduated from Hopedale High School, where she served as head majorette, and married Richard Leroy Case. They had two sons, Jeffrey Reed and Drew Edward.

Mary was devoted to her family, most especially her two granddaughters, Camryn and Kenna Case. She was an accomplished cook, seamstress, and crafter. Until onset of her illness, Mary was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Hopedale and worked alongside her dear friends at Kerry Lazear's Beauty Shop.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Nalda (Slater) Culver.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Richard Case; her son, Reed Case and his wife Rhonda Evans Case and her son Drew Case, his wife Corisa (Sawko) Case, and their daughters, Camryn and Kenna Case. Mary is also survived by her father, Paul Culver, and five siblings: Paul (Pete) Culver Jr, Sharon Atkins, Lynn Grabits, Tommy Culver and Elizabeth (Biz) Hennis.

Friends may call at the Blackburn Funeral Home at 324 High Street in Hopedale, Ohio on Friday, Jan. 3rd from 2 until 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be at the Hopedale Church of Christ at 11 a.m. on Jan. 4th. Pastor Dean Blythe will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

Following the services, a dinner will be held in honor of Mary's memory, at the Hopedale Social Hall.
