Frank J. ‘Red’ Cipoletti

CIPOLETTI, Frank J. "Red," 90, of Wellsburg, WV, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at Liza's Place in Wheeling, WV.

Mr. Cipoletti was born on Nov. 6, 1923, in Wellsburg, WV, a son of the late Giulio and Asunta (DiFabbio) Cipoletti.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by five brothers, John, Patsy P., James, Sam and Paul Cipoletti; and one sister, Rose Mary (Cipoletti) Cipriani.

He was an Army veteran of World War II serving in Europe with General Patton in the third Army.

Frank was a lifelong member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church having been an altar server, lector, usher, and a member of both the parish council and school board.

Frank retired from Allegheny Power where he worked in customer service and the engineering department. Later he retired from A.J. Cipriani Realty where he worked as a realtor.

He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 15050, a 60-year member of the American Legion Post 34, and a 62 year member of the Wellsburg Elks Lodge 1553. Frank was a former volunteer at Wheeling Hospital.

Frank is remembered as a devoted and caring husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Margaret (Gunion) Cipoletti at home; four daughters, Marian and Charles Voelker, Savannah, GA, Jayne and Ken Query, Whispering Pines, NC, Francine Adkins, Kingsport, TN and Larry Adkins, Houston, TX, Linda and Rick Stockel, Richmond, VA; one brother, Jules "Boots" (Jean) Cipoletti; and one sister-in-law, Estella Cipoletti both of Wellsburg, WV; seven grandchildren, Charlie and Lauren Voelker, Kelly (Voelker) and Tony Houser, Joey Adkins, Katie Adkins, Ryan Query, Allison Query, and Ricky Stockel; two great-grandsons, Wesley and Rhett Voelker; many Cipoletti and Cipriani nieces and nephews

Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Mullenbach Funeral Home, 669 Main St., Follansbee, WV.

Vigil services will be held on Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Dec. 21st at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Dan Pisano as celebrant.

Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Wheeling, WV.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or St. John's Catholic Church, at 1300 Charles St., Wellsburg, WV 26070.
