At their Dec. 4 meeting, members of the Valley Pastors Network announced that $1,072 was raised for Urban Mission Ministries at the Thanksgiving Ecumenical Service held Nov. 24.

Proceeds from the donation were applied to the mission's Christmas meal and toy distribution programs.

The ecumenical service, held at Word of Life Fellowship and sponsored by the Valley Pastors Network, included prayers for the Valley and its leaders; special music; and a keynote message delivered by pastors from throughout the Valley. It concluded with a time of food and fellowship.

The Valley Pastors Network is a group of ministers from throughout the area who desire to join together and work in unity to spread growth, prosperity and the message of Jesus Christ throughout the Ohio Valley, according to a news release. The group, which has nearly 30 clergy participants from across denominational lines, meets once a month for a time of fellowship, discussion, encouragement and prayer.

Its meetings are open to all area clergy, and all local pastors are welcome to attend. The next meeting will be held at 8 a.m. on Jan. 8 at Word of Life Fellowship, 565 Lovers Lane, Steubenville.
