STEUBENVILLE - Those with someone on their Christmas gift list who is hard to buy for, or anyone just looking to save money when dining out, should purchase a Herald-Star and The Weirton Daily Times' Dining Club Card.

Available for $10 each, the cards offer potentially hundreds of dollars in savings at 16 restaurants on both sides of the Ohio River.

"There are so many great discounts from local restaurants, and the savings last all year long," said Denise Delatore, advertising director for the Herald-Star and Weirton Daily Times.

Delatore noted the cards may be used through Nov. 30 at any of 16 area restaurants. Appealing to diverse tastes and needs, they are Scaffidi's Pasta, Damon's Grill, the Ville Restaurant and Bar, Malta's Pizza, Quizno's, Domino's Pizza, Gina's Carry Out Favorites, Vocelli Pizza and La La's Diner, all in Steubenville; Zalenski's Eatery and Pub, Burger King and Arby's, Wintersville; Tudor's Buscuit World, Weirton; the BBQ House and Legends Steaks and Spirits, Wellsburg; and DeFelice Brothers Pizza in both Follansbee and Wintersville.

Many of the restaurants offer a discount of 10 percent or more on meals or selected entrees, while others offer free food with the purchase of another item. The discounts may not be applied to alcohol purchased at the businesses that offer it.

Brandi Bowers, special projects and digital salesperson for the newspapers said because the cards may be used for lunch, dinner or, in some cases, breakfast, they make good Christmas gifts for co-workers and loved ones who enjoy dining out.

But individuals who purchase the cards for themselves also will appreciate the large amount of savings in this busy Christmas shopping season and the year ahead, she said.

The cards may be purchased at the Herald-Star's office at 401 Herald Square, Steubenville, during regular office hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or by calling (740) 283-4711. They may be purchased with checks or the following credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.
