The GFWC/Ohio Woman's Club of Wintersville had a successful 12th-annual Holiday Splendor luncheon and style show Dec. 1 at St. Florian Hall.
Marjean Sizemore and Pat Freeland served as co-chairs of the event with committees of fellow club members and their areas of responsibilities including, Suzie Crawford, vendors; Pat Daily, wine; Joyce Palmer, reservations and mistress of ceremonies; Nancy Hukill, favors; and Pauletta Sprochi and Aimee Jaros, Chinese auction, door prizes and drawings.
There were some really terrific prizes, but I wasn't on the winning end of things and neither was Mary Alice Meyer, who was seated nearby and made the "L" loser forehead sign to express our no-luck status.

A couple of women were especially lucky, though.
Pat Zorne was one, leaving as the winner of the 14K gold chain with a flower cut amethyst pendant with a diamond accent and matching earrings donated by Chip and Chris Warren of Discovery Jewelers in Wintersville.
Another woman - whose name I didn't catch - won the 50-50 drawing, taking home $543.
The style show featured Phyllis' Fashions with fur vests said to be a hot item and electric blue the hot color.
Profits from Holiday Splendor fund club scholarships, including the Glenda Dunlope Scholarship, the Wintersville Woman's Club Scholarship, Eastern Gateway Community College scholarship and Franciscan University of Steubenville.
