Children's Corner: Abraham Lincoln Bunny

November 29, 2013
By GEORGE CREEGAN , The Herald-Star

Abraham Lincoln Bunny was named after the 16th president of the United States.

Abe Bunny felt the same as the president, that things they were taught in school were right and correct that all bunnies - black, white or another color - were all created equal.

Abe Bunny wasn't sure all bunnies were religious, but all humans were helpful, as were most bunnies.

All the bunnies were saddened when Lincoln was assassinated - sad for months. The government eventually issued a one cent coin with Lincoln's face stamped on it.

Years later Lincoln's face was printed on the five-dollar bill. And later, Lincoln's face was seen on U.S. postage stamps.

All the bunnies were happy with that!
