WINTERSVILLE - Christmas is in the air and the village's special events committee is preparing for its annual holiday spectacle.

The Wintersville Christmas parade is slated to begin at 3 p.m. Dec. 1 with participants spreading holiday cheer along Main Street from Riesbeck's to Kroger.

Line-up for the event will begin at 1 p.m. at Riesbeck's.

"Anyone and everyone are welcome to participate in this year's parade," Mayor Bob Gale said. "We had a stellar turnout of floats, motorcycle groups, dance groups, cars, etc. participate last year and we are hoping to see an even bigger line-up this year."

Gale believes that the parade offers goodwill and cheer to area residents.

"The parade is something that children and adults alike look forward to every year and it is a great way to kick off the holiday season," he stated. "We are hoping for beautiful weather and a number of people lining the street to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year."

Those interested in participating can contact the village offices at (740) 266-3175.
