WINTERSVILLE - With December quickly approaching, the village is preparing for its annual holiday festivities.

According to Mayor Bob Gale, the 34th-annual Ray Laman Christmas Party will begin at 10 a.m. Dec. 11 at St. Florian Hall. Village council approved a donation of $500 to the event Thursday evening.

"We give to this event annually along with a number of area businesses as well as private donations," Gale said. "This event brings a lot of goodwill and cheers to the children of the area and is a great way to kick off the holiday season."

Gale noted that the annual Christmas parade is slated to begin at 3 p.m. Dec. 1. Those interested in participating should contact the village offices at (740) 266-3175. The route will begin at Riesbeck's, travel down Main Street and conclude at Kroger.

Gale congratulated Jason Matter, Bob Merriman, Ralph Parissi and Robbie Martin on their re-election to council Tuesday.

"I am excited to see these men back on village council," he stated. "We are dedicated to working well together for the betterment of the residents of Wintersville."
