STEUBENVILLE Mayor Domenick Mucci won re-election Tuesday night in a race where he faced strong opposition from Republican challenger Lou Arrico.
A jubilant Mucci said late Tuesday he was honored and pleased, "with the vote of confidence from the residents of Steubenville."
"I am looking forward to working with the new city manager when that person is chosen by the city council. We have much to do in our city and I am ready for the work," Mucci said.
Mucci garnered 1,411 votes while Arrico tallied 1,250 votes. Write-in candidate Dawud Abdullah received 126 votes.
Election board officials reported 30.5 percent of the eligible voters participated in the election Tuesday.
