STEUBENVILLE - City Council approved two ordinances and heard the second reading for a third ordinance Tuesday night.

Approval was given for legislation authorizing the acting city manager to apply for a $50,000 grant from the Ohio Public Works Commission to be used as part of the city's hare for the Buena Vista Boulevard water line upgrade.

And the council approved an ordinance authorizing the approval of expenditures without a purchase order for over $3,000.

The legislation receiving a second reading will allow the acting city manager to advertise for bids for supplies for the city service department.

The council met in a 30 minute executive session to discuss the search for a new city manager.

Three candidates will be in the city this weekend for face to face interviews.

Read the Wednesday edition of the Herald-Star for all the details from the City Council meeting.
