STEUBENVILLE - The city health department will offer free and anonymous HIV testing from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday by appointment only.
Health Commissioner Patty Reda said anyone interested in the test should contact the city health department at (740) 283-6000, extensions 1503-08.
"We will also be offering blood pressure screening and tuberculosis skin testing on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. We won't have TB skin testing on Nov. 26," said Reda.
Childhood and adult immunization clinics will be offered from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. A parent or legal guardian must accompany the child and a record of prior immunizations must be provided before immunizations will be administered.
A child's legal guardian must present a court ordered document on the day of service in order for the child to receive a vaccination, said Reda.
"We have flu vaccines at the health department for adults from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday until the supply is depleted. Information regarding children's flu vaccine is available by calling the nursing division at (740) 283-6000, extension 1506 or 1508. And we now have the Zostavax or shingles shot at the health department. Please bring your Ohio Medicaid, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Medical Mutual of Ohio and Health America/Health Assurance insurance cards," said Reda.
The city health department will be closed on Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day.
The offices will also be closed Nov. 28-29 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
