Bruins down Monarchs

WELLSBURG - The Brooke volleyball team defeated John Marshall 25-20, 25-21, 25-15 Wednesday in the final regular-season game.

The 11-19 Bruins will take on Parkersburg at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Parkersburg South in the West Virginia Class AAA Region 1, Section 1 tournament.

Leading the way for the Bruins was Angela Staffileno and her 15 kills, 12 blocks and five points. Kourtney Leonard delivered three points, two aces, eight kills and 14 digs, Emily Stuck eight points, 11 digs, three blocks and 23 assists and Isabella Preston nine points, four aces, two kills and 24 digs.

Madison Marchetti contributed 12 points, two aces and three kills, Abby Adams three kills and five blocks, Alexa Gerard 10 points and three aces and Jentzen Kowcheck six digs.

Sportsman's club host turkey shoot

BLOOMINGDALE - The Jefferson County Sportsman's Club will hold its annual turkey shoot at 11 a.m. Sunday. Events will include trap shoots and luck shoots. Beginners are welcome and the public is invited.

Indian Creek selling tickets

WINTERSVILLE?- The Indian Creek Athletic Department will be selling tickets to Friday's football game at Edison from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. today and Friday in the ticket booth located in the front of the high school gymnasium. Adult tickets are $6 and students are $3. All tickets at the gate are $7.
