STEUBENVILLE - A candlelight vigil has been set for 7 p.m. today at Catholic Central High School for Amanda Looman.

Looman graduated from Catholic Central High School and was currently in her senior year at Franciscan University of Steubenville.

CCHS Principal Rich Wilinski said the candlelight vigil is open to the public and will be held at the Shrine of the Virgin Mother located at the front of the high school.

Former Weirton mayor cited

WEIRTON - Former Weirton Mayor Mark Harris, who now lives in South Carolina, was cited for two outstanding building code violations on a rental property he still has in the city.

City police had reported Harris, a resident of Fort Hills, S.C., turned himself in on two warrants for the BOCA violations on Oct. 15.

Officials in the Building Enforcement Division said the citations, both issued during the summer growing season, were for high grass at the property.

Harris was indicted in September by a Hancock County grand jury on three counts of embezzlement and one count of conspiracy. His wife, Nycole, was charged as a co-conspirator. Investigators allege the former mayor pocketed more than $16,000 between 2007 and 2011 that had been donated for a planned skate park. The alleged theft was discovered after Harris left office.
