Crusaders' season ends

MAYSVILLE - In the blink of eye, it seems, the season ended for the Steubenville Catholic Central boys soccer team.

Logan McLaughlin scored the tying goal with three minutes left in regulation and then knocked in the game-winner early in overtime, as Zanesville Bishop Rosecrans moved on in the Division III sectional with a 2-1 win over the Crusaders Wednesday at Maysville High School.

Steubenville Catholic Central (14-2-1) led 1-0 after Leo Herrmann scored in the first half.

Wayne Cade continued to make saves to keep the Crusaders off the board when Joe Shaffer found McLaughlin for the tying goal.

Carter Hagy then assisted the go-ahead goal by McLaughlin, while Cade had three big saves in overtime.

CRESSON, Pa. - The Franciscan University of Steubenville volleyball team pushed its win streak to five after blanking Mount Aloysius College 25-20, 25-11, 25-18 Wednesday. FUS is 4-1 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference action.

"I told the girls to not sleep on this game," Barons head coach Kelly Herrmann said."

Gulish records an ace

CHESTER - Andy Gulish recorded a hole-in-one at Mountaineer Woodview Golf Course. He used a 6-iron on the 150-yard 15th hole.
