The Area Agency on Aging Region 9 will host its seventh-annual Jefferson County Caregivers Luncheon on Oct. 23 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Florian Hall in Wintersville.
Unpaid caregivers of Jefferson County are invited to join with other unpaid caregivers for a day of relaxation, good food, information and fellowship, according to Laurel DuBeck, community education coordinator with the Area Agency on Aging Region 9.
There will be a complimentary luncheon, entertainment and door prizes for any unpaid caregiver who is caring for a family member, friend, neighbor or other relative. While the person being cared for can live anywhere - by themselves, with someone else or in a facility - the caregiver must reside in Jefferson County.
The event is not for volunteer or employee recognition. Caregiving cannot be job related and must be current or within the past two years.
Attendance is by reservation only by calling (800) 932-7277, extension 4719. The deadline is Wednesday. A complimentary luncheon will be provided for a caregiver and one guest. Additional guests will be $10 per person.
The event also is sponsored in part by Acuity and Davita.
