Steubenville police

Arrested: Crystal McCoy, 34, 533 Nebo Drive, Toronto, tampering with evidence, Monday.

Arrested: Jeff Bucey, 33, 142 N. Sixth St., Steubenville, two bench warrants, possession of drugs, possession of drug abuse instruments and possession of hypodermic needle, Monday.

Theft: A resident of Beverly Street, Weirton, told police Monday someone used his debit card at Wal-Mart in Steubenville to make purchases of $88.30 and $139.43, and to purchase fuel at Kroger in Wintersville. The individual said he'd lost his wallet in Weirton, and police there had instructed him to file a report in Steubenville due to the unauthorized activity on his account.

Theft: A Rosswell Avenue resident reported the theft of a computer and flat screen monitor from residence, Monday.

Theft: An individual housesitting for a Euclid Avenue resident reported the theft of a laptop, Monday. Police later were called to the residence a second time when the individual heard an intruder in the basement of the residence.

Theft: A Colonial Drive resident reported a suspect known to him used his debit card without authorization, overdrawing the account after transactions at a cafe/diner in Weirton and a casino in Chester.

Cited: Billie Louise Hutson, 323 Lee Road, Follansbee, speeding; Alexander J. Rossi, 322 Woodlawn Road, Steubenville, speeding; and Shawn M. Summers, West Union, W.Va., driving under suspension.

Jefferson County sheriff

Arrested: Randolph M. Baumar, 36, Salem, contempt, Monday.

Arrested: Larry Hanlin, 25, 985 Potter, Steubenville, parole violation, Monday.

Missing signs: Political candidates Gini Chandler, 388 Fairplay Road, Bloomingdale, and John Downey, County Road 38, Bloomingdale, reported their signs were stolen, Monday. Both are running for trustee.

Theft: Jewelry, three notebook computers, a PlayStation 3, a Craftsmen tool set, jewelry, ammunition, an iPod Touch and three semi-automatic pistols reported missing after a break-in on Belvedere Drive, Bloomingdale, Monday.

Brooke County sheriff

Arrested: Sean M. Roach, 37, Apartment 18, 1120 Main St., Follansbee, battery and driving while suspended, Friday.

Arrested: Michael C. Wayt, 28, Windsor Heights, domestic battery.

Cited: William D. Neff III, 26, 2517 Charles St., Wellsburg, expired registration; and Sunnie R. Liggett, 18, Avella, speeding.
