Two arrested for aggravated menacing

STEUBENVILLE - Two men were arrested by City Police for an incident in which a gun was allegedly pointed at a couple on George Street on Sunday afternoon.

Police were called to George Street around 3:30 p.m. after a truck pulled up in front of a house. A couple came out of the house and saw the driver looking in the woods. The couple asked the driver what he was doing and the driver and the passenger got back into the truck, police reported. The passenger pointed a handgun at the couple as they were driving away, police reported.

The truck was pulled over a short time later in the 1400 block of Belleview Boulevard, but no gun was found.

Charged were Bryan Walker, 25, Martins Ferry, aggravated menacing and possession of marijuana; and William Withers Jr., 29, 2721 Sunset Blvd., aggravated menacing and suspended license.

WINTERSVILLE - Jefferson County Chapter 5, District 9 Public Employee Retirees, will hold its regular monthly meeting at noon Wednesday at Zalenski's.
