A full slate of activities is on tap for Sept. 28, starting with the Homecoming parade from CCHS to Harding Stadium. The parade, led by the Crusader band, will kickoff at 11:30 a.m. Homecoming queen candidates along with members of the 1993 Ohio football champions and 1994 state baseball title squad will be featured in the march down Sunset Boulevard.

Members of both teams will be recognized at 12:30 p.m. The 2013 Homecoming queen will be crowned during halftime festivities.

Bishop Jeffrey Monforton of the Diocese of Steubenville will celebrate a special Mass at the school's Laman (starting at 4:45 p.m.) following the game. The school's Alumni Association will sponsor an "old fashion fish fry" in the CCHS Cafeteria and Pavillion following Mass (5:45 p.m.)

At 7:30 p.m., the first public viewing of "Crusaders Bold: The Making of Catholic Central's 1993 State Championship" will be held in Laman Hall.

David Riley, a major in the U.S. Air Force and a member of the title winning team., produced the documentary. Through interviews with players and coaches, Riley's documentary chronicles Central's 1993 season against the backdrop of the 63 years of school tradition and local history that preceded it.

Interviews with players and coaches provide inspiring, heartwarming and sometimes comical insights into key moments, both on and off the field that shaped the 1993 team.

Riley's film takes its names from Catholic Central's alma mater, "March on Crusaders bold, victory will then unfold." The film features the voice of ESPN's John Buccigross, a CCHS graduate. Riley, a 1994 Central grad, wrote and directed the film and Natalie Campana-Lucas, a 1998 Big Red graduate, edited and produced the film. Campana-Lucas is the multi-media instructor at the Jefferson County Joint Vocational School.

"The idea for the film really came to me during a 14-hour flight to Amman, Jordan in the fall of 2010," Riley said recently. "Somewhere over the Atlantic, I found myself reminiscing about the 1993 season and the impact the experience still has on me. I put my initial ideas for a documentary together on that flight and continued to develop ideas and plans over the next year."

In the fall of 2011, Riley read a Herald Star article about the 40th anniversary tribute given to Catholic Central's 1971 team and "realized the 20th anniversary would be the perfect forum for the documentary to premier."

The Hall of Fame induction ceremony is on tap for 8:30 p.m. with a social to follow. The social also is being sponsored by the CCHS alumni group.
