The Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors' Club hosted the fourth-annual "Poolside Burger Bash" at the Best Western Plus University Inn in Steubenville, and for the fourth year, made a profit on the event, which has been chaired by Anita Jackson since its inception.
During a recent meeting, the club voted to donate to the new Steubenville, state-of-the-art, entrance sign and to co-sponsor along with the chamber's board of directors a seminar entitled "Active Shooter." It will address how to deal with life-threatening attacks in the workplace, school and public areas.
The seminar will be held on Sept. 5 at Eastern Gateway Community College with registration getting under way at 8 a.m. The seminar will run from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and be presented by Tim Dimoff, chief executive officer of SACS Consulting and Investigative Services Inc.
