SAYRE, Bernard A., 79, of Weirton, WV passed away Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville, OH.

He was born November 29, 1933 in Pittsburgh, PA. He was the son of the late Lee A. and Ruth Reiber Sayre.

He was also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lou Davies; brothers, Milton, Lee, Norman, and Robert Sayre.

Bernie was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Weirton Lodge No.171 A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite of Wheeling, Osiris Shriners, Northern Panhandle Shrine Club, 25 year club of Weirton Steel Company.

He served his country in the U.S. Army (Dixie Division) during the Korean War. Bernie retired from Weirton Steel Corp. as a general foreman of the Basic Oxygen Plant.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Maxine Wright Sayre; sons, Dennis Allen Sayre (Charlene) of Chesapeake, WV, Jeffrey Scott Sayre of Rowlett, TX, Kirk Douglas Sayre (Lisa) of Weirton, WV; grandchildren, Lisa Renee, Dana Nicole, Kayla Breanne, Brandon Alexander, Joshua Evan.

Friends and family will be received at the Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV on Monday, August 19, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.

The funeral will be at the funeral home on Tuesday August 20, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Tim Conrad presiding. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
