SWICKARD, Ronald D. "Wild Ron, High Plains Drifter, Ranger," 58, of Toronto, OH, went to be with his mom and dad, many relatives and friends Thursday evening, July 25, 2013, in the Life Line Hospital being held by his loving sister, while surrounded by his brothers and best friend Keith Kennan.
Ron was born Aug. 11, 1954, at home on Warren Ridge in Toronto. He was the son of the late Warner M. and Naomi G. Householder Swickard.
Ron attended New Somerset Christian Church and his God given talent was being a mechanic and fixing things; he studied to be a diesel mechanic. Ron worked at Kmart Auto and numerous garages around the area until a back injury sidelined him although he continued helping friends work on their cars and sharing his knowledge.
Ron was a Mopar man and his loves were his great-nieces Alyssa and Paige, good times, good friends, his John Deere, burn outs and racing Mopar (Dart and Chargers) at Smithfield, Salem and Norwalk, OH.
He is survived by his brothers, Dwaine of Wadsworth, OH, John (Betty) of Stratton, OH, Larry (Rita) of Toronto, OH; his sister, Lois (Paul) Spence of Toronto, OH; two nieces, Amy (Ralph) Hensley and Heather; two nephews, Chris (Olivia) Swickard and Zack; five great-nieces, many friends and Lucky.
Visitation for Ron will be held on Sunday, July 28, from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH, where his funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. Pastor Rob Rowe will officiate and burial will follow in New Somerset Christian Cemetery.
