Double rainbow

July 24, 2013
The Herald-Star
Area residents saw a double rainbow in the skies Tuesday night after a severe thunderstorm rolled through the Ohio Valley. At one point the rainbow appeared to reach from Ohio to West Virginia and lasted for several minutes. The National Weather Service reported winds in excess of 60 mph, 1 to 2 inches of rain and hail as big as an inch across. AEP reported about 150 customers still without power early today, with about 100 Mon Power customers being without electricity in the Follansbee and Weirton areas. The National Weather Service will be touring areas today in the region looking for more storm damage. - Dave Gossett
