Free diabetic shoe fitting scheduled for Friday
Medi Home Care, 105 Main St., Wintersville, will host a free exam and shoe fitting for diabetic shoes from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.

Local teen named
Chelsie Kindsvatter, 17-year-old daughter of Heather and Steven Lucas of Steubenville, was chosen as a state finalist in the National American Miss Ohio Teen Pageant held in June.
She placed second runner-up out of 97 girls. This entitles her to compete in the national pageant to be held in Anaheim, Calif., in November.
Country Friends to host Stone Street Station
Country Friends will host the Stone Street Station band on Saturday at the Memorial Hall located on Old Police Lodge Road, Colliers.
Country Friends has events each Monday, Friday and Saturday at the hall. The doors open at 6 p.m. each Saturday, and the dance starts at 7 p.m.
On Mondays and Fridays, the doors open at 4 p.m., and open mic begins at 6 p.m. Participants can bring a covered dish for the meal that begins at 5 p.m.

The Bergholz Community Foundation awarded 19 $1,000 scholarships to college-bound students this spring.
Sixteen students received their scholarship awards at the Edison High scholarship banquet, including Joshua Higgins, Taylor Grafton, Conrad Shafer, Matthew Stevens, James Allender, Devyn Carpenter, Arika Coffy, Nicole Davis, Hannah Johns, Baylee Kennedy, Mikayla Marshall, Alaina McGlone, Molly McCoy, Kiley Smith, Kaitlyn Turachak and Victoria Turnball.
Also receiving a scholarship at the Jefferson County Joint Vocational School banquet was Joshua Conley.
Two nontraditional scholarships were awarded to Kaitlyn Long and Christy Renforth.
Weirton Community Day
at Kennywood Park
The 49th-annual Weirton Community Day at Kennywood Park is Aug. 12.
The event is organized by the Weir High School Band Boosters, and the band will perform in the evening parade, after the students completed their annual two-week band camp.
All-day discounted passes are on sale at Ted's Plaza Pharmacy in the Shop'n Save Plaza and at Newbrough Photo on Main Street, Weirton.
Tickets are $25 each, and senior tickets are $15 with cash sales only.
