The Vietnam Veterans Support Group Chapter No. 1, Steubenville, will be conducting a community service project and fundraising event at the Wal-Mart store in Steubenville on Sunday.
Members will be at the store entrance to collect worn-out American flags for destruction at a future event; distribute information on veterans' benefits; and ask the public for donations to help support the group's Mission of Service to the community and fellow wartime veterans.
All funds collected are spent locally, according to a news release.
The support group was founded in Steubenville in 1985 and is open to all wartime veterans from the community. It meets in the War Memorial Building at 423 North St., Steubenville.
