Early morning shooting leaves two hurt

STEUBENVILLE - A city man was transported by medical helicopter early this morning after he was shot in the back by an unknown shooter.

Police reports indicated this morning Sean D. Loveless was taken to a Pittsburgh-area hospital with a gunshot wound to the lower back.

According to City Police, Loveless and Linda Surface said they were sitting on the front porch of Surface's residence at 431 S. Fifth St. when someone shot at the house approximately six times from across the street.

The incident took place at approximately 12:32 a.m. today

Surface was transported to Trinity Medical Center West with a gunshot wound to the calf area of her leg.

Reports on the condition of Loveless and Surface were not available this morning.
