Adena Lions hear progress report

Adena Lions Club members reported on the work completed at the Pitt Field for the Adena Girls' Softball League at a recent business meeting where Darrin Young presided. Pictures of work on the field were highlighted in "The Headlioner" newsletter in May.

A June 12 grilled steak or chicken dinner will be held with an induction of new officers at the Adena Fire Hall.

Dustin Kinsey, Zone 6 chairman, will be completing his term as well, with Young taking over the reins of Zone 6. He has had a close working relationship with Kinsey and will be carrying on a smooth transition, it was noted.

Correspondence read was from Camp Echoing Hills, Eye Research, Akron Children's Hospital and Ohio Lion Foundation.

Three people are up for membership: James Moore, sponsored by Jay Hopkins; Willie Luther, sponsored by Young; and Rob Winnery, sponsored by Karl Bowers.

The club made a donation to the Adena Library for $325 for the summer program.
