STEUBENVILLE - One man is in custody and another man is in a Pittsburgh hospital after a shooting around 2 a.m. today in the 1300 block of Park Street, City Police reported.

Corey Lyons, 25, of 724 Market St. was in the Jefferson County jail this morning facing two counts of felonious assault in connection with the shooting of Brandon Young, also known as Brandon Hubbard, 30, of 1319 Oak Grove Ave., police reported.

Police reported Young and another man were on a porch at 1304 Park St. when Lyons fired shots from the porch at 1310 Park St. Young was hit with bullets three times, once each in the upper chest, thigh and wrist, police reported. He was flown by medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital.

Police reported Lyons was arrested on the porch at 1310 Park St.

A police detective executed a search warrant at the house, police reported.

Police Chief William McCafferty said there was a large fight earlier in the night in the Pleasant Heights area that spilled over into other altercations. He said the shooting is probably related to those fights.

Lyons was scheduled to appear in municipal court this morning for an arraignment.
