Edison defeats the Jets
RICHMOND - The Edison baseball team defeated Union Local, 11-3, in a Buckeye 8 makeup game Tuesday at the Edison Sports Complex at Jefferson Lake State Park.
The 22-3 Wildcats take on Cambridge at 5 p.m. Friday at Vaccaro Field in Division II sectional action.
Nolan Marcus singled and doubled twice and Alex Jones singled and doubled for the winners. They both grove in four runs. Josh Pasek added three singles and an RBI.
Clay Woodward picked up the win.

STEUBENVILLE - The Cambridge baseball team set up a 5 p.m. Friday date with Edison thanks to Tuesday's 6-1 win over Beaver Local at Vaccaro Field in the Division II sectional tournament.
Dillon Sunnafrank tripled and singled and Devan Francis singled and doubled. Both drove in two runs.
Spring Hills golf clinic set
EAST SPRINGFIELD - Spring Hills Golf Course will hold a junior golf clinic from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 18 and 20. The clinic is open to boys and girls ages 9-14.
The cost of the clinic is $20 and includes a sling tote bag or shoe bag, a frisbee and a coupon for a free nine-hole round of golf (at a later date when accompanied by an adult).
The entry deadline is June 16.

Indian Creek to hold golf outing
UNIONPORT - The seventh-annual Indian Creek Golf Scramble to benefit Indian Creek Athletics will be held June 8 at Red Oaks Golf Course.
The cost is $55 per person. Hole and green sponsorships are available for $100, $75 and $50 dollars.
There will be 50/50 drawing, Chinese auction, closet to the pin and longest drive. Cash prize will be paid to the top three teams.

Oak Glen soccer boosters to meet
NEW MANCHESTER - The Oak Glen Soccer Boosters will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the high school multi-purpose room. Plans for the upcoming season will be discussed.

Golf scramble to be held
HOPEDALE - The Smithville Volunteer Fire Department is holding a golf scramble at Castle Shannon Golf Course on June 15. Cost is $65 per person with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
The fee includes golf, cart, skins, food, drink, door prizes and skill prizes. Lunch will be available at the turn and dinner after the round.
