Harold ‘Bunchy’ Westlake

WESTLAKE, Harold "Bunchy," 95, of Mingo Junction, died Friday, May 3, 2013, at Weirton Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 21, 1917, in Steubenville, the son of the late Samuel Brice Westlake and Florence Walker Henry. Harold is also preceded in death by his wife, Lois Floto Westlake and one brother, Brice Westlake.

Harold was retired from the former Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel with 42 years of service and served his country in the US Army during WWII, was a member of the VFW and a member and past commander of the American Legion Argonne Post 33 and the VFW.

Surviving are two daughters, Brawyn (Paul) Vida of Weirton and Cheryl (Joseph) Cicchirillo of Charleston, WV. and one son, George Westlake of Mingo Junction; 10 grandchildren: Robin Vida, Lindon Vida, Amy Nagy, Kevin Vida, Cheryl Vida Bertsch, Marcy Griskevich, Vincent Cicchirillo, Bryan Westlake, Justin Westlake, and Megan Westlake and 18 great-grandchildren.

Things important to Harold were: love of family, golf, dancing and traveling. He was an avid sports fan of the Steelers, Pitt and Steubenville Big Red Football.

Calling hours are Saturday May 11, 2013 11a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd. Steubenville. Burial at Union Cemetery.
