Absentee ballots available

FOLLANSBEE - Applications for absentee mail-in ballots for the city's June 11 general election are available between 9 a.m. and noon and 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Follansbee City Building.

Registered voters who are unable to vote in person may apply. The deadline to register is May 21 at the Brooke County Courthouse.

CEOS offering craft class

WELLSBURG - The Brooke County Community Educational Outreach Service will hold a craft class, featuring no-tie fleece blankets, at the Brooke County Public Library at 1 p.m. May 10. They will teach participants how to make a no-tie fleece blanket.

Participants should bring a yard each of fleece in two colors and a pair of sharp scissors to make two baby blankets or a lap blanket. All other materials will be supplied.

Mother's Day story hour to be held

WELLSBURG - The Brooke County Public Library will hold a Mother's Day evening story hour, with Kim Harless, at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Story hours set at Follansbee Library

FOLLANSBEE - The Follansbee Branch Library will hold story hours for children, ages 25, and their caregivers at noon Monday and May 13 and 20.

WELLSBURG - The Brooke County Public Library will be showing the PG-13-rated film, "The Guilt Trip," starring Seth Rogan and Barbara Streisand, at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
