John E. Sadar

SADAR, John E., 88, of Dillonvale, Ohio, passed away Sunday April 7, 2013, in the Gables Care Center in Hopedale, Ohio.

John was born May 17, 1925, in Windber, PA, son of the late Frank and Amelia Strazisar Sadar.

John was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Mingo Plant; he was a member of St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Dillonvale and was a lifetime member of the Piney Fork American Legion.

John served his country during WWII in the US Army 101 Airborne.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Antonia Lenore (Domenick) Sadar, who passed away on April 15, 2009; his sister, Marie Bednar and two brothers Frank Sadar Jr. and Joe Sadar.

Surviving are his two daughters, Doreen (Frank) Barczak of Orlando, FL and Amelia "Mimi" (Harvey Bowser) Sadar of Sewickley, PA; one son John (Frances) Sadar of Smithfield and three grandchildren, Todd and Jennifer Barczak and John Frank Sadar.

Visitation for John will be held on Wednesday, April 10, from 4-8 p.m., at the J.E. Foster Funeral Homes, Inc., 107 Hill St. in Smithfield, Ohio. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Dillonvale. Msgr. John Kolesar will celebrate his Mass with burial to follow at Northern Cemetery in Smithfield. Full Military Honors will be provided by the Piney Fork American Legion. Additional visitation will take place at the church from 9:15 a.m. until time of Mass. Vigil Service will be Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
