Church selling nut rolls

March 18, 2013
The Herald-Star

Mingo First United Presbyterian Church nut roll sale, a tradition of the Easter season, will again be offered on March 25.

"Sales are always pretty strong," said Jerry Ritter, the church's kitchen boss. "They have become part of the holiday tradition around here. Of course, all of us at this church like to eat and we've perfected this recipe over the years."

Ritter and his dedicated crew have the production down to a science.

"It's Easter, and Jerry keeps us hopping," joked Barbara Menendez who helps in the production line, "but we all enjoy working together when we have food sales."

The nut rolls are priced at $9 and can be picked up after 3 p.m that day.

The church is located at 650 McLister Ave. The phone number to place an order is (740) 535-0309 or (740) 282-8560.
