Brenda Harris was the winner of the silver ladle award in the Brightway Center spaghetti sauce cooking contest and fundraiser held March 9.
Daryle Griffin, president and CEO, presented the award. After a taste test of the sauce, those who came for the spaghetti dinner voted for their choice of five contestants. Other entrants were David Rutter, Griffith, Lamont McCoy and Jim Seabright. Virginia Young, service board chairman, was in charge of the arrangements. Cooks were Kathy Mathison and Cecelia Seabright of the Jefferson County Christian School. Members of the Kara's Kids Youth Group attended the dinner and participated in the voting.
