City man charged following foot chase

STEUBENVILLE - A 27-year-old man wanted in Illinois for a parole violation was charged with a multitude of offenses following a foot chase through a LaBelle neighborhood Monday.

Sidney Dontae Watson, Apartment H, 805 Market St., was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, having a weapon under disability, obstructing police business, falsification and tampering with evidence. In addition to being wanted in Illinois, Watson also faces four bench warrants locally, according to reports.

Police said they were investigating reports of alleged illegal activity in an alley between Maryland and Pennsylvania Avenue when they spotted a pickup truck missing a taillight. When they pulled the vehicle over, Watson allegedly fled the scene on foot. A 9 mm handgun was found under a bush, they said.

Follansbee man arrested in robbery

FOLLANSBEE - A city man has been arrested in connection with the armed robbery of the Follansbee Subway shop at about 9:30 p.m. Monday.

Ronald Anthony DiEugene II, 23, 1019 Virginia Ave., was arrested by City Police for allegedly entering the business bearing a knife and taking about $420.

Police said an employee was leaving through a rear door, following a day's work, when DiEugene, whose face was concealed, forced her back inside. They said the woman wasn't harmed.

Police said DiEugene was found with 24 rolls of coins and a large amount of currency on his person in the downtown area.

DiEugene is being held in the Northern Regional Jail and awaiting arraignment in Brooke County Magistrate Court.

Wayne Township trustees set meeting

BLOOMINGDALE - The Wayne Township trustees will meet at 5 p.m. Thursday to discuss personnel matters, according to officials.

Oak Glen to present 'The Littlest Angel'

NEW CUMBERLAND - The Oak Glen Middle School Culture Club Players will present a musical adaptation of "The Littlest Angel," the classic children's story by Charles Tazewell, March 21-22 on the OGMS stage.

Curtain time each evening will be at 7 p.m.

Admission will be $5 for adults and $3 for students.
