Patrol called to fatal accident

BERGHOLZ - The Ohio State Highway Patrol was called to a single-vehicle accident in which a man was killed on state Route 164 Friday.

Bergholz and Amsterdam ambulance squads were dispatched to the accident, which was reported at 10:25 p.m.

The investigating officer couldn't be reached for other details.

Road work announced

The West Virginia Division of Highways has announced minor road work to be performed this week, pending suitable weather.

In Hancock County, crews will be patching state Route 2 and U.S. Route 30 and ditching along Rockyside, Ferndale and Moscow roads.

In Brooke County, crews will be patching U.S. Route 22 and ditching along Windy Hill and Girtys Point roads.

Award-winning pianist to appear

WEST LIBERTY - Marshall University professor and pianist Henning Vauth will present a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at College Hall.

Vauth has won international competitions in Norway and Italy and performed at Lincoln Center and in Paris, Berlin and many other venues in the U.S. and Europe.
