MANN, Doris Mae, 91, of Toronto, OH, passed away surrounded by her loving family Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at the New Dawn Retirement Community of Dover, OH.

She was born December 5, 1921 in Newark, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Walter and Ethel (Stickle) Reinhardt.

Doris was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ of Steubenville, OH, where she had served as church treasurer, was a choir member and a member of the church's Friendship Guild.

She was a member of the Dyer Country Club of Toronto, where she was past club champion; a member of the Toronto Three Arts Club; a member of the Toronto Women's Bowling Association; a graduate of the Union High School in New Jersey and Beaver College in Pennsylvania; and was a school teacher for the Toronto School system.

Doris served her country in World War II as the first female Master Technical Sergeant to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps. Her duties were to serve as a control tower operator and a clearance clerk.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph F. "Jay" Mann, who passed away April 9, 2002 and whom she married April 21, 1944; and a brother, Robert Reinhardt.

Doris is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Dick) Irvin of New Philadelphia, OH, and Karen (Dan) Mellott of Toronto, OH; grandsons Randy (Laura) Kerstetter III of Wadsworth, OH, and Brad Irvin of Centerville, OH; granddaughter Bridget Irvin of New Philadelphia, OH; and great-grandchildren Kayla, Jay and Emily Kerstetter.

Visitation hours for Doris will be 2-4 and 6-8 Friday, February 22 at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto, 740- 537-1234 or 855-847- 1240. A celebration service of Doris' life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 23 at the funeral home with Pastor Carol Vaccariello of the Zion United Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow at the Ft. Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville, OH, where there will be full military honors by the Toronto American Legion.

Memorial contributions in memory of Doris may be made to the donor's choice in her memory.
