Robert ‘Bob’ W. Carpenter Sr.

CARPENTER, SR., Robert "Bob" W., 76, of Wintersville, Ohio, passed away Feb. 6, 2013, at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville.

He was born Oct. 29, 1936, in Steubenville, Ohio, a son of the late Chester and Effie (Robinson) Carpenter.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Eugene, Donald, and Edward Carpenter; sisters, Virginia Pearl, Mary Mankowski, Rose Jones, and Saundra Matty; and three grandchildren, infant twin boys and granddaughter, Angel.

Bob was a member at the Brentwood United Methodist Church.

He loved playing high school football, fishing, hunting, NASCAR, showing off his 1951 Ford pickup, but most of all Bob loved his family. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and uncle.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Doris Faye (Search) Carpenter whom he married on June 27, 1957; son, Robert Carpenter, Jr. of Wintersville; daughter, Lisa (Larry) Pearce of Bloomingdale; brother, Howard (Dorothy) Carpenter of Wintersville; sisters, Geraldine (Orman) Shields of Doylestown, Ohio and Janet (Bill) Evans of Vonore, Tenn.; grand children, Robert, Jason, and Tiffany Pearce; great grandchildren, Lance Coleman, Cole, Griffin, Kennedi, and Kenzi Pearce; brother-in-law, Richard Matty of Marshallville, Ohio; sister- in-law, Evelyn Carpenter of Spence, WV and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Road, Wintersville where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Pastor Bill Westling officiating. Burial will follow at Ft. Steuben Burial Estates.
