City man sentenced in domestic incident

STEUBENVILLE - Thomas J. Smith, 34, of Steubenville was sentenced to two years in prison on Wednesday by Jefferson County Common Pleas Judge Joseph Bruzzese Jr. after pleading guilty to burglary and felony domestic violence.

The woman had a protection order in place against her husband, according to court records.

Police went to the Pennsylvania Avenue home and located Smith.

Smith initially was indicted on a charge of aggravated burglary but the charge was reduced to burglary upon a motion of the prosecutor's office during Wednesday's hearing.
