Board of elections completes audit
STEUBENVILLE - The Jefferson County Board of Elections reported its post-election audit Thursday showed exactly the same results as the certified results.
Diane Gribble, board of elections director, said 5 percent of the ballots cast in the November general election were randomly selected. Those ballots were hand counted and the results were compared with the machine tabulated results. She said the results matched exactly.
The hand counting of the 1,682 ballots took most of the day on Thursday, she said.
Hours changing at library branches
Hours are changing for two branches of the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County.
The Tiltonsville branch will expand hours to be open on from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesdays. Its operating hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
